Metropolitan region of Evenkya is a municipal unit, founded under the Evenkya Autonomous district Law N 438 "about the foundation of the municipal unit "Metropolitan region of Evenkya". It consists of rural settlements and intersettlement territories, united by common territory.

Since the 1 of January 2007 - the moment a new Russian Federation subject foundation - according to the Federal Constitutional Law "about the foundation of a new Russian Federation subject in a structure of Russian Federation as a result of the union of Krasnoyarsk territory, Taimyr Autonomous district and Evenkya Autonomous district" - Evenkya metropolitan region is a special status territorial unit.
The administrative centre of Evenkya metropolitan region is Tura (urban-type settlement).
The highest agency of executive power is the administration of Evenkya metropolitan region, headed by the Chief-executive.
The representative body of the region is the District Soviet of People's Deputies, headed by the beneficiary of the region.
Currently there is a row of social, economical and political priorities in Evenkya ruling:
- economical development of Evenkya;
- ensuring the defense of Evenkya population interests;
- dealing with the Krasnoyarsk Territory administration on egalitarian basis
Evenkya is a great region that combines its own interests with the interests of Krasnoyarsk Territory and Russian Federation on the whole.
